Once on this mountain: Mr. Scott

As we begin our new academic year, we welcome many new staff members. The Woodstocker caught up with some of them to chronicle the first chapter of their adventures.

Where are you coming from?

I am coming from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I worked at Spring Field School in Philadelphia. I was a chemistry teacher there.

Why did you decide to come to Woodstock?

I came to Woodstock because I am interested in spiritual and outdoor learning. I believe in the concept of wholeness. I like to work as a community and Woodstock offers all of them.

How you did you come to know about Woodstock?

Our close friends from the church told us about Woodstock. They used to work in Landor Community Hospital so when they came back to the United States America, they told us about Woodstock. I applied for it because it was like my dream place.

Why did you decide to come to India?

I came to India because my wife and I were always interested in working overseas and we wanted our kids to see different communities and their way of living, and India is a very diverse country. My wife and I even took a trip to Africa to know more about agriculture. We both were going to work there but didn’t because our second child Judo was born.

What are your hobbies?

I like to wrestle, cycle, trek, rock climb, sing, and read.

What are your goals for this academic year?

My academic goal of the year is to get more familiar with the IBDP.

Are there any fun facts about you that you’d like to share?

I skydived in Austria, I went bungee jumping in New Zealand, I was a wrestler during college, and I had long hair when I was in school.

Any messages for Woodstock Community?

We feel pretty loved here. Thanks for welcoming us.
